In recent years, the SNCF Group, a key player in French heritage, is committed to an innovative approach aimed at promoting its properties. In order to explore innovative approaches for the preservation and activation of this heritage, SNCF has joined forces with the National Monuments Center (CMN), which is mobilizing its Heritage Incubator to identify startups capable of responding to these challenges with modern and immersive solutions.

Structured support for an ambitious program

RaiseLab was asked to support SNCF Patrimoine in the structuring and management of this program, which is structured around two main axes:

  • Coaching and innovative project methodology : we equipped the teams to successfully carry out each innovation initiative.
  • Digital content and events : by stimulating a culture of collaborative innovation, we have brought teams together around inspiring meetings and regular meetings.

Pioneering projects at the service of heritage experiences

For nine months, we supported the implementation of several initiatives, including collaborations between:

  • Lumeen and The Yellow Train : allowing residents of more than 200 nursing homes to live the immersive experience of the famous Pyrenees' tourist train via virtual reality headsets;
  • IMRSIVO and La Cité du Train : giving the teams of this institution the possibility of creating virtual reality visitor routes, for a new approach to cultural mediation.

An enriching collaboration for tomorrow's heritage

This partnership has enabled SNCF to position itself as an innovative player, combining preservation and modernization of heritage uses. To mark the six years of his Heritage Incubator, in 2024, the CMN is offering a complete feedback through a white paper on the 33 incubated projects, offering concrete tools to professionals in the sector.
